The new Ledge Music is coming. This time Laidback Luke & Marchand got together to make this new vocal pearl. Including hot remixes from top notch artists such as Sébastien Léger, Wize and Marchand.

Holland’s beloved house music-loving homeboy, Laidback Luke is on an international mission to rock clubs, win hearts and top charts. A producer and DJ with immense talent, tonnes of spirit and a steely determination to succeed, he has been on a worldwide search for the ultimate in dancefloor energy since the mid-1990s. “Music is an amazing tool that can evoke powerful memories and emotions,” says Luke with a smile. “And I will not rest until I’ve given my best: I want to share as much music as possible with as many people as possible.” And in 2006, with an incredibly impressive discography of 100+ recordings and a DJ diary that takes him from his studio near Amsterdam to clubs all over the world, including Pacha and Space (Ibiza), Ministry of Sound (London), Industria (Antwerp) and Opium (Miami), it would seem that Luke is well on the way to achieving his goals.

In 2006 Luke has been bang into the hot sounds of the ‘Swedish house mafia’. Discovering that he shared many influences with Steve Angello, the two hit-makers first met on the www.laidbackluke.com forum in 2003, trading MP3s online before finally meeting face to face at the Miami WMC in 2004. They have remained buddies ever since and Luke’s remix of Sexy F**k for Steve’s label Size and his cool collaboration with Steve titled Otherwize Then (unleashed on Sebastian Ingrosso’s label Refune) have been hammered by top jocks around the world. Indeed, Luke is on fire right now and is preparing for further collaborations when he returns to Stockholm at the end of the year. So watch out for even bigger sparks in 2007 as the Flying Dutchman continues his international house music revolution!

Like a glam rock fueled missile, comes ‘Exhibition’ from Parisien duo ‘Wize’. Giorgio Moroderesque emotion in bed with the cream of the French touch sound, underlayed by tight beats, mixed with that psychoacoustic mastery only associated with that other pariesien duo, Daft Punk. French band Wize hit upon a niche when they fused the classic French house sound with more current hard disco elements, leading them to remix for some of the genre’s hottest names. “Exhibition” is a perfect illustration of this concoction with a strong chord-driven cornerstone that carries a short, but sweet vocal hook. Manuel Tur churns out a quirky counterpart with multilayered clipped keys while DLG sticks to his signature sound, providing a disco alternate.

Sandwiched between the rather formulatic French filter house of the original and the brash electro styling of Dj DLG’s remix, is a rather interesting interpretation from Germany’s Manuel Tur. Injecting a large dose of hip-swinging funk via a shuffling rhythm track and some great squelchy bass and lead lines, Tur’s mix is what you’d imagine would happen if P-funk keyboardist Bernie Worrell and bass playing cohort Boosty Collins were ever let loose on a house track. Top gear for underground house heads who like their shit a little bit freaky, in other words.

As well as looping and filtering ecstatic disco samples, the Gallic party sound now digests eighties influences as Wize’s original mix showcases here. Even US producers are at it, the DJ DLG mix proposes an in your face re-interpretation that kicks ‘Exhibition’ into glorious anthem status.’

4 pumping mixes riding on the red hot indie electro house formula This ones definately got the Roule / Bangalter school with big compression on the loops that churn over repetitous vocal snips, soaked with mad filtering and groovin with an extremely funky edge The energy here is banging with a sometimes frantic feel on the persistent edits and turn arounds Each mix out-does the other! Will please fans of Roulé, Phoenix, Supermen Lovers, Dj Falcon…4 tracks that really fit the bill
